Yeon Bae Jung was born and educated in Korea. He majored in architecture in university, and had worked as a
building designer for 10 years and as architect in his company for 10 years. He moved to Canada in 2006. He
entered in New Brunswick College of Craft and Design (NBCCD). He graduated in Jewellery& Metal Program of
NBCCD and now enrolls Advanced Studio Practice of NBCCD.
In the past he created new architectural designs and structures for many years as an architect in Korea. He feels that his ability was passed on from his father who had excellent hand skills as a Korean traditional fashion designer. From
this family heritage, he has always been writing, drawing, and producing work. Since 2014 he has been training
as a jeweller-metal artist. He is keenly interested in the aesthetic of hollowware, and story-telling jewellery. In this
work he tries to capture the soul of the work, reflecting the human experience. he continues to create new stories,
capturing the essence of humanity, and expressing that into his work.
