Anne Marrec was born in 1943 in Romans, France; she has been a resident of Quebec since 1969.

"The acrylic and charcoal work on large canvases is made with superimpositions, chromatic gaps and transparencies to refer to the complexity of life. Complexity of feelings, of positions, of the roles we play in a universe in constant change.

The reference to the passage of time is always in the back of our actions. It is expressed in my work by the sketches in charcoal, appearing in the background, representing animals (felines, horses, birds, fish) in movement which give a feel of swift passage, fluidity, proactivity and of going back in time."
