Paule Legace was born in Chicoutimi in 1951.

"Painting is for me the quest for today's world. The expressions of my characters are important, what they communicate, their personality, their actuality. They live today and move forward with me through life. At 20 years old, my characters were very soft and sentimental; since then, they went through and are still going through all sorts of stages. They came to Montreal at the same time as I did in 1979. Children in 1981, sensuality, joy, passion, misfortune, sadness, travels... In fact, painting is the continuation of life, the quest for... What's important is to go forward and to always search further."
